"She came bearing joy like the barrio had never known, filling everything with sunshine. Her name was Magdalena, and she was so good, so fair..."
Ever since my earliest exposure to tango music, I've been exceedingly fond of this song as recorded by Ricardo Malerba. I recently started to dance with a delightful lady named Magdalena, and dancing with her always makes me think of the song. So...this song's for you, Magdalena!
Magdalena
Lyrics: Luis Caruso (Luis Rafael Caruso Servidio)
Music: Del Cisne
Recorded by: Ricardo Malerba with Orlando Medina (1943)

There once was a blond, She came bearing joy Magdalena, Magdalena... I don’t know with what phrase |
NOTE: *destiny: estrella, star or destiny.
