This has been floating around the web and on Facebook for a while, but in tantalizingly low resolution. It's a two-page spread from El Mundo of Argentina from 1944 showing how Buenos Aires milongas were advertised in a daily newspaper. You can click on the images to see the original, full sized files. They're a lot better resolution than what's been available before. You can actually read the text!
As you can imagine, there's a lot more of this material spanning 1942-45 and beyond. I will be releasing more of it over time, including close-ups of individual ads. Let me know what you think, and what sorts of things you'd like to see.
